The HTC One Max is headed to Verizon in the near future, that much is certain. The gigantic phablet appeared in various leaks over the past few weeks, and we’ve even seen press renders of it in October. That said, it’s still unclear when exactly it will be out at Big Red or how much it will cost.
Well, strike that last part. Thanks to an inadvertent leak from Verizon itself, we now know that the One Max will be priced at $299.99 with a new two-year contract. That’s hardly surprising, obviously, since it’s the same price at which the carrier sells the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, arguably the One Max’s main competitor. So it looks like Big Red is sticking to believing that phablets are worth $100 more than smaller flagships.
The picture above comes from one of the touchscreen devices in a new Verizon store concept unveiled at Mall of America. HTC Source was there and luckily managed to snag the proof. Since the phablet was already in a Verizon retail system, we assume the launch can’t be far off right now.
As you can see, Verizon’s logo is replacing the HTC logo in between the softkeys on the phone, which is unfortunate news for those who hate seeing the carrier’s name every time they look at their device. This confirms what we’ve seen in past leaks, so once again – not that surprising.
