The Droid Bionic saga is about to end, apparently. That doesn’t mean the phone was cancelled or anything like that, it just means that it may finally see the light of day, and, as such, all the leaks surrounding it are bound to stop. In a couple of weeks, it seems.
See, a few days ago we reported the fact that Verizon’s Motorola Droid Bionic may launch on September 8 and carry a (rather steep) $299.99 price with a new two-year contract. The basis for that info was a purported leaked MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) sheet from an internal Verizon system.
Today we have yet another leak from an internal Verizon system, this time the Infocenter, which, surprisingly (or not?) shows us the exact same data. So, the Droid Bionic may just launch on September 8 after all. After having heard so many projected release dates, and after so many delays, it’s reassuring to find two leaks that say the same thing. We’re going to go out on a limb here and say that the release date is almost certain at this point.
Of course, Verizon still hasn’t officially said anything. So last-minute changes may occur. In fact, we’re hoping something like that does happen regarding the price, and Big Red will come to its senses and make the Bionic cheaper. We’ll see.
