Verizon released the Motorola X on August 29, back then selling it for $199.99 on contact. As of today, the largest US mobile carrier is offering the handset for only $99.99 on contract – this way matching the price that AT&T’s and Sprint are asking for the smartphone.
Currently running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Moto X will be updated to 4.4 KitKat – hopefully in the near future.
MotoMaker – which allows users to customize the Moto X – isn’t available to Verizon customers yet, but it should be starting this month, possibly as of next week.
Next week, on November 13, Motorola will announce a brand new smartphone – the Moto G. It remains to be seen if this will be released via Verizon. If now, it’s said that Verizon will introduce a new Motorola Droid Quantum, an Xplay phablet (with a 6.3 inch display), and a Motorola Droid 5 (with full QWERTY keyboard) at some point. Of course, these are just rumors for now.
