The Samsung Ativ Odyssey for Verizon will finally become available tomorrow. It will cost $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two-year contract with the carrier.
The wait is almost over, then – if you’re interested in Samsung’s first Windows Phone 8 device to be sold by the biggest carrier in the US.
The Ativ Odyssey unfortunately isn’t Verizon’s version of the international Ativ S or anything like that. While the Ativ S is a high-end device that’s competing with the likes of the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC 8X, the Ativ Odyssey that you’ll be able to purchase from Big Red from tomorrow is just a midrange offering.
The Samsung Ativ Odyssey comes with a 4-inch 480×800 Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording, a 1.2 MP front-facing camera, a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of built-in storage space, microSD card support, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
