The Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon is now getting the Android 4.4.2 update after a long wait. The handset on other carriers is already running the newest version of Android, but considering that this is Verizon we’re talking about, the delay was much expected.
The update will bring the customary KitKat related changes that we’ve seen so far in other updates including bug fixes and some changes related to Samsung’s core apps and features.
Verizon is packing apps like Isis Wallet, VZ Protect (version 2.0.0), Verizon Cloud and Audible along with this update as well. The update will be quite large, so the carrier is suggesting users to have at least 50% of juice left on the phone before downloading the update.
The update is rolling out immediately and should reach all devices by the end of the day. Verizon originally started the rollout in late April for the Verizon Galaxy S4, but some users still haven’t received the update yet.
