There are many niche Netflix alternatives out there. One of these is Viddsee, a Web-based video platform and launchpad for movies emanating from Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on short films from indie filmmakers.
Thus far, Viddsee has only been available as a Web app, though this worked on mobile too. However, Viddsee is today rolling out its first native mobile app, kicking off with iOS.
The Viddsee app serves up a weekly hand-picked selection of movies, with users swiping through the curation until they find a title they wish to watch.
There’s also a ‘queue’ and ‘offline’ mode, with shorter films auto-downloaded whenever Wi-Fi is detected.
Viddsee for iOS is available to download from the App Store now.
