Last week, RIM announced it’s new BBX OS would allow both BlackBerry smartphones and tablets to access Android apps. Today you can watch a video of the Runtime player in action.
The clip below shows Runtime in action via the beta of BBX 2.0 with several popular Android apps including IMDb, Amazon Kindle, Winamp and TweetCaster Pro demonstrated as fit for BlackBerry use.
Concerns had previously been raised by RIM developers about the compatibility of Runtime with any apps featuring Google Maps, in-app billing services, Android’s text-to-speech engine or a cloud-to-device messaging system. Although claims these were quickly refuted, questions remain as to how workable the feature will be on BlackBerry devices.
