When you’re out doing something that requires a list of things to do, may it having your car parts checked or buying bulks of your everyday needs in the supermarket, you probably still take the time to write each action that you need to do or write down the items that you need to buy. If your memory’s not too good or if you simply have a lot of things going on in your mind, making lists is pretty much a necessity. Good news is that, with VocaList, you can address this issue by having an app that would remind you of them and even take the trouble of reading your checklist for you.
VocaList, with its playful title, allows you to create any list involving any topic that you want. Once you start the app, you can immediately proceed to making your list by clicking on the right—most pencil (edit) icon on the upper portion of the interface. After creating your list, you can now start adding entries to it.
You may notice that with every entry you add, there’s a circular button next to it. If the button is red, then once you prompt the app to read the entries to you, it would read the said entry. Take note that you can begin the vocal reminders by pressing the speaker button located on the lower-right portion of the list. As the app is reading you every entry, you can cross out (the button will turn green) any one of them by saying any of the recognized hotwords of the app. The app is able to respond to common affirmative (and negative) replies. You can easily view the hotwords for both in the information menu. They range from everyday language that we use like “OK” and “YES” to “NO” and “NOT YET”.
If you have a previously created list that is already in your phone’s storage, you can also choose to upload it onto the app and start using it immediately. By clicking on the share icon found in any list you create, you can choose to save it in your phone’s storage or share it online. Platforms that are supported by sharing include popular apps such as Viber, Dropbox, Gmail, Google Drive, and Yahoo Mail, to name a couple of them.
There’s already a considerably large number of checklist apps already available in the Play Store. However, what certainly makes VocaList unique is its very original feature of automatically reading for you the entries that you have typed in your list. The fact that you can mark off any entry without the need to physically prompt your phone is a very standout feature as well. It obviously adds to the convenience that the app is already able to provide.
