iOS: With so many different candidates with years of political experience, navigating politics and researching politicians can be an overwhelming process. Voter simplifies it by treating it like dating.
First, a little disclaimer. You probably shouldn’t pick your political candidates based on a simple app. You also probably shouldn’t to vote for someone based on the same process you use for dating. That being said, Voter is a decent way to learn the basics about a politician to start your research in the right direction. The app aims to make learning about politics a little more accessible. It’s interface is similar to Tinder’s.
Once you download the app, it asks you a series of basic questions about your political views. From there, it tells you how closely you align to any political party and its candidates. When you tap on any one politician, the app gives you bite-sized details about where they stand on a number of issues from healthcare to the death penalty to domestic drilling. The app also gives info on their top contributors, a brief bio of the candidate, and their key quotes.
Of course, picking a political candidate is not like dating. Unlike dating, you can’t just elect a candidate, discover it’s not working out, and then break off the relationship. The only way voting and dating are compared via this app is its interface. It’s obvious, but it warrants emphasizing.
You want to be an informed, educated voter. But this app can start you in the right direction for researching more about various candidates. Check it out for yourself at the link below.
