Media Molecule used the PlayStation 3 era to hone a suite of 2D video game creation tools that doubled as a video game franchise called LittleBigPlanet. Though the characters and world were 3D, most user-made levels took place on 2D plane. Later versions of LittleBigPlanet could be used to make 2.5D and 3D games, but that required a degree of skill beyond the average player. For the PlayStation 4, the developer is creating Dreams, a true 3D game creation tool. The designers promise Dreams will allow players to create games in a variety of genres, but so far it looks most promising as a toolset for producing adventure games. This footage breaks down a level that plays like Myst by way of Hello Kitty.
