That’s 2012 pretty much done and dusted then; and it’s normally around this time of the year I suddenly remember I left something I need back in June and have to go all the way back to get it. So should that happen again, you go ahead and start 2013 without me and I’ll catch up as soon as I can.
But before the onset of the abject misery that January tends to be, we’ve just time for one last Week in Android! I hope so anyway, because I’ve written it now, sacrificing seasonal time with the family that could otherwise have been spent bickering over what to watch on TV.
A fine end to the year, the week has been a mix of Crimbo cheer with Grinches and Googlers, perils and PITFALLs to dodge and detect, and ingenious kit and intriguing industry insight – in short, a Christmas cracker packed with Android fact just waiting to be pulled. Go on, pull it! Bang…
Kicking off the “most wonderful” week with a Christmas classic, Dr. Seuss’s tale of furry, green, Grinchy redemption come to Android in digital book format. True to the original, there’s still time to treat the kids and keep the festive feel going. Read the full review here, perhaps with another mince pie.
Slip into your Fila vintage tracksuit, pop open a can of Quatro, stick Metal Mickey on the TV and embrace the 80s once more as the Atari classic that is PITFALL! celebrates its 30th anniversary with an Android reboot that could run and run. We got all nostalgic here.
Intriguing, engaging, anime effect puzzler that tasks you to get touchy feely with a whole host of quirky characters in a bid to piece together the problems and solve the stumpers. Novel, odd and, in turns, easy or impossible, we got hands on here.
Proving once more that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, the messaging security mandarins at Cloudmark flagged up more malware malarkey masquerading as actual apps to steal your money by sending massively misleading missives. You are about to be warned.
Well, that’s The Week in Android done for the year. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together, we’ve made sweet online love together. I’m off now to solemnly reflect on all my achievements over the past 12 months for a minute or two, and then I’ll see you next week to kick it all off afresh; if I’m not stuck in June, of course.
