As we exclusively reported last week, the LYF Wind 2 is the latest affordable smartphone from the Reliance’s 4G smartphone brand. It is priced at Rs. 8,299 and is also priced on the higher side when compared to other Wind-series smartphones. As seen with the LYF smartphones, this device also offers 4G LTE with VoLTE support. It sports a 6-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by MediaTek MT6735M quad-core processor. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage on the Wind 2. It sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP selfie front camera. As of now, the Jio preview offer with unlimited 4g data and voice calls is also available for LYF Wind 2.
At MWC 2016, LG unveiled its latest flagship device LG G5 that came with innovative features but didn’t generate many sales. Now in the second half of 2016, the company has confirmed to launch the LG V20 as the successor to LG V10 which was the first device in the all new V-series. The secondary display that was present on V10 can is also expected to be featured on V20. The LG V20 will be officially launched on September 6th in San Francisco. Apart from Nexus devices, the LG V20 is said to be the first smartphone to run on Android 7.0 Nougat. The dual front cameras that are seen on LG V10 might be present on LG V20.
ASUS unveiled the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and Zenfone 3 Ultra smartphones in May this year in Taiwan. While the devices are recently made available for pre-orders in their home country, the company also launched the Zenfone 3 Max and Zenfone 3 Laser smartphones. Last week, the company sent out the press invites for the launch of Zenfone 3 smartphones in India. We aren’t sure whether the Zenfone 3 Max and Zenfone 3 Laser will also be launched at the same event or not. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is expected to come with upgraded Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 GPU & 6GB of RAM. The LeEco Le Max 2 is the first smartphone to come with 6GB RAM in India, it yet to be made available.
Lenovo launched the Vibe K5 Note and the upgraded Vibe K5 Plus smartphones in India. The Vibe K5 Plus comes with an extra gig of RAM while the rest of the specifications remains same. It is also priced same as the 2GB RAM variant at Rs. 8,499. The Vibe K5 Note comes in two variants with 3GB and 4GB RAM priced at Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 13,499 respectively. It sports a metallic body with a 5.5-inch Full HD Display on the front. Under the hood is the Helio P10 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is a 13MP PDAF rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and a 3,500mAh battery. It still runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop based Vibe UI on top. Both the devices are exclusively sold through Flipkart and there also bundled accessories like ANT VR, TheaterMax Controller, and Amkette Gamepad Pro 2.
Eluga Arc 2 is the newly launched smartphone from Panasonic priced at Rs. 12,290. It is the successor to the Eluga Arc that was launched earlier this year. The device comes with Aluminum build body and features a 2.5D Dragontrail glass on the front as the protection. It supports dual SIM dual standby with 4G LTE & VoLTE support. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with a customized UI laid on top. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by quad-core processor. The Eluga Arc 2 includes 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 2450mAh battery. In the camera department, there is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera.
The Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime are two latest entry-level smartphones from Xiaomi. The Redmi 3S lacks the fingerprint sensor which is present on the Redmi 3S Prime. While the Redmi 3S comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, the Redmi 3S Prime includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Redmi 3S is priced at Rs. 6,999 and the Redmi 3S Prime costs Rs. 8,999. Both the metal build devices come with 5-inch HD display and Snapdragon 430 SoC. There is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front camera. The devices are backed by a 4,100mAh non-removable battery. Both the devices run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the MIUI 7.5 on top. The latest MIUI 8 update can be expected in the coming weeks.
We all came to know most of the specifications and features of Galaxy Note 7 even before the launch. The device will be launched here in India on August 11th and is expected to be available from the next week after the launch. Recently the Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is listed on TENAA which hints that to be made exclusive for China. Talking about the specifications, it sports 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and is protected by latest Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 SoC (or Exynos SoC) coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Apart from the fingerprint sensor, it also includes an IRIS scanner on the front for making the device a bit more secure. With the IP68 certifications, the Galaxy Note 7 is also waterproof and dustproof.
