The official Westfield Malls iPhone app has recently been updated. This update has brought a few new features, one of which sounds really cool. But on that note, we are not entirely convinced that it will be a good feature to have in an already loud environment. That feature is concierge voice control.
“Press the “Tap to Ask” button and tell Concierge what you’re looking for – stores, directions, restaurants, mall hours or what’s on sale. Your phone is now your in-hand shopping assistant.”
Thankfully though, that is not the only new addition to the app. But first, the basics. The Westfield Malls app has gone up to version 2.0.1 and maintains the requirement of iOS 4.3 or later for use. The app will run on the iPhone and iPod touch as well as the iPad. Though, on the iPad, the app is not universal which means you will be running 2x mode. Otherwise, the remaining new features include usability improvements, enhanced navigation, a redesigned search and integration with OpenTable and MovieTickets.com.
Usability improvements. Enhanced look and feel with improved Menu and Toolstrip – get to all the features you need faster than ever before.
Enhanced navigation. The all-new Map features turn-by-turn directions to get you quickly from store to store. Redesigned maps are more legible and the improved UI makes the map easier-to-use.
Completely redesigned Search. Now you can search for more than just products (using Product Search Powered by Google). Browse stores, dining, events, offers and movies.
OpenTable and Movietickets.com integration. Now you can book a table or buy a movie ticket in the Westfield app via OpenTable and Movietickets.com plugins.
