A battery case is a convenient way to extend the battery life of your iPhone 6. While these cases do greatly extend the battery life of your phone, they can have some drawbacks. They are always heavier and bulkier than regular cases, and they often come with the burden of having to track extra cables or adapters. That being said, battery cases are ideal for people who work long shifts far from a wall charger, or for people who use their device all day for battery-draining purposes like GPS navigation, streaming music, or gaming. A little extra weight is a small price to pay for such a useful accessory. But which battery case is the best on the market today? There are lots of brands to choose from, including battery cases from top names in the industry, and battery cases from names that are less familiar. We’ve highlighted five of the best battery cases out there to help you find the one that best fits your budget, your personal case aesthetic, and your lifestyle. Read on to see which iPhone 6 battery cases made our “best of” list.
1. iPhone 6 4.7 inch ZeroLemon 3100mAh Slim Juicer Battery Case
Check out a video review of this ZeroLemon case in the player above.
ZeroLemon offers a wide array of battery cases for the iPhone 6. In addition to this model, you can also get the same case style with a smaller 2400mAh battery, or a similar style with a whopping 4600mAh battery. The 3100mAh model of this iPhone 6 battery case offers a nice blend of slim construction and long-lasting battery life. With the case on, your phone will be noticeably heavier and a bit longer, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
The case has a soft-touch finish, which does feel nice in your hand. However, the texture of the case does make it a bit hard to grip, particularly if your hands are a bit clammy or sweaty. The case itself consists of two main parts. You install the case by sliding main battery part of the case so it slots into the Lightning port, and then you snap a bumper piece around the edges of the phone. The bumper can be a little hard to get in place the first time (it’s almost like trying to get all the edges of a Tupperware container to sit flat), and the bumper may creak slightly if you squeeze it. The buttons are quite stiff, but I’ve had similar cases like this before, and I expect the buttons to soften up with use.
To start charging, just press the power button on the rear of the case. Four LED indicators let you know how much juice the case has left, and you can power down the case at any time to conserve battery. Overall, this case feels nice in your hand, works correctly, and gives you great peace of mind while traveling. It has overcharge protection, so you don’t have to worry about overcharging your device’s battery. Whether you need a battery case to get through a long shift at work, or just want a little extra battery boost while playing games, this is a solid case to consider. It also costs less than many other battery cases we’ve seen out there. If you need a battery case for work, or just like the idea of not having to plug your phone in every day, this might be the best case for you.

Mophie is one of the leading names in battery cases. They take time to get their products right before they come to market, which is both good and bad for consumers. While iPhone owners like getting high-quality accessories, having to wait for months after a new device comes out to get a compatible case can be agony.
The Juice Pack Air case boasts a 2750mAh battery, which more than doubles the iPhone 6’s battery life. Mophie’s products consistently get rave reviews, and it’s a brand you can feel confident about buying. However, all that brand cachet comes with a premium price tag, which may be a turn-off for the budget-conscious. It’s also worth noting that you might want to hold out for a Mophie Space Pack case for the iPhone 6, if and when they become available. Unlike the Juice Pack Air, which only offers a battery boost, the Space Pack offers a battery and some additional hard drive space, which makes it great for business use, or for anyone who didn’t spring for extra storage when they bought their phone.

Technically, this case isn’t on the market yet, but it will be very soon. The Otterbox Resurgence case, which had previously only been available for the iPhone 5/5s, is going to be made for the iPhone 6 as well. Unlike the older version of the case, which had a pretty small 2,000 mAh battery, the iPhone 6 version of the case has a 2,600 mAh battery. The case boasts military-grade drop protection. The iPhone 5/5s version of the case is on sale now, but the iPhone 6 version won’t be available until later this year. Still, if you don’t mind a short wait, it might be worth holding out to get this Otterbox case. While it is on the expensive side, it should be a nice improvement over the occasionally buggy iPhone 5s version of the Resurgence case.
What’s more useful than a case that extends your battery life? This case includes a 3500mAh battery supply, which means you can fully charge your iPhone 6, and still have some juice left over. The LED indicator makes it easy to see how much of a charge you have left, while the secure locking mechanism keeps your case in place.
How does this case compare to some of the other iPhone 6 battery cases on this list? Well, for one thing, it’s on the cheaper side. Additionally, it has a bigger battery than the ZeroLemon, Mophie, and OtterBox cases we have referenced. If you want the most bang for your buck, this case should be at the top of your shopping list. We’ve seen this as low as $69.99 in the past, so it might be worth using a site like camelcamelcamel to observe changes in price over time.
This iPhone 6 battery case from i-Blason carries a 3200mAh battery, which puts it in roughly the same league at the ZeroLemon battery case. As a basis for comparison, the iPhone 6 itself has an 1,810 mAh battery. This case feels good in your hand, and has a built-in LED indicator to let you see the charge level.
If you want a great looking battery case that won’t add a ton of weight or heft to your phone, this attractive battery case is a great option. As a nice bonus, this case is MFi certified, which means that it meets Apple’s rigorous standards for accessories that will play nice with your iPhone. You can still access all controls and ports when this case is installed. As one of the cheapest options on our list, this is the most appealing battery case for iPhone 6 owners who need to stick to a budget.
