Apple's white iPhone 5 might look a little something like this
Apple’s iPhone is coveted in nearly every form and every version, right down to the most mundane detail. It’s probably a safe bet to say that the iPhone would still be the one of the most desired smartphones even if it came pre-packaged in the world's most atrociously colored case.
Fortunately, since its smartphone inception, Apple has stuck with the basic black and white models, and anyone who might want something in, say, a hot pink flavor, can easily find a case to suit that. Still, people are hesitant to hide the glossy sheen of the white iPhone. It is, after all, quintessentially Apple. The iPhone is definitive enough in its overall hardware, but seeing that little white slab pressed to someone’s ear serves to confirm it.
That said, we came across this rendering of the white iPhone 5, posted over at Gizmodo. The images were rendered using alleged “leaked” photos of Apple’s fifth-generation smartphone for reference. In this photo, the two-toned aluminum and white plastic back panel looks a little industrial and maybe not as clean as some Apple fans might prefer. Though, this could just be the fact that the artist included full on smudgy fingerprints.
In case you missed it last week, we also saw a rendering of the black iPhone 5. This one was originally posted all over the Web as an actual leak, and everyone was really excited for a hot minute. But that died down upon the almost immediate revelation that the "leak" was, as usual, a load of crap. The mockup is still pretty sweet, though, and certainly worth a look.
As we all know, there’s no telling exactly how Apple's real finished product will look come this fall, but these photos provide a nice teaser while we’re waiting.
Let us know what you think. Do these renderings look feasible? Do you like the two-tone back panel? Are you set on a white iPhone 5, or will you opt for the black version?
