Unpacked 5 is taking place in about an hour from now. Where we are expecting Samsung to announce the Galaxy S5, as well as the new Galaxy Tab 4 family. Of course, the Galaxy S5 is going to be the star of the show. The Galaxy S5 is rumored to have a 1080p 5.25-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 800 here in the US and other LTE markets, while 3G/HSPA+ networks will have the new Exynos 6 octa-core 64-bit chip. It’s also expected to have 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage, and a huge 3000mAh battery inside. We’re also expecting it to have Android 4.4 – KitKat. However none of this is confirmed, since Samsung has been doing a pretty good job at keeping things locked down.
The Galaxy S5 is also expected to have a fingerprint reader in the home button, as well as a new flash on the back, which is said to provide great pictures in conjunction with the 16MP camera on the back. Samsung has also decided to scale things back with Touchwiz, which is something I’m excited to see. We should also be seeing a new hardware design for the Galaxy S5, which I’m also excited about. How about the rest of you.
So sit back, and relax, and watch Unpacked 5 along with us. Of course we’ll be busy writing up everything about the event, and you can expect tons of content this afternoon/evening about the Galaxy S5. You can also go ahead and talk about the event in the comments down below as always. Any last minute predictions on the Galaxy S5 unveiling later today?
