When it comes to social networking sites you can forget the likes of MySpace, Bebo and, erm, Cloob (very popular in Iran), as we all know there are two top dogs; and out of them only one that offers more than updates on what Stephen Fry is eating. Bless. Yes, the social media supremo is the Book of Face, and where it leads millions follow. But whilst we’re all busy following each other, who does Facebook itself follow? Who else?
This pair of posters has appeared on the wall at Facebook HQ in California, encouraging staff at the social not-working wonder to stay ahead of the sales and activation trend and make the switch from their former fruity favourite to the open source OS of choice.
One poster displays a simple graph charting the meteoric rise of Android and spelling out in no uncertain terms how wide the gulf will be between Google’s OS and Apple shipments by 2016, whilst the other simply asks employees if they “Droidfood”, questioning whether they’re testing their own product on Android or not.
Whilst the posters are in no way anti-Apple, their appearance in the halls of the Social King (and subsequent release online) is bound to cause more than a little consternation down in Cupertino, whereas this seeming suggestion of smart sides to take must have gone down a storm at Mountain View’s Googleplex! What do we make of it all? Hmm… ‘Like’…
