Some big changes are possibly afoot at two big firms, shifts that could be going down as early as later today.
According to sources speaking with AllThingsD, Don Mattrick, president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, is set to leave the software giant. Mattrick's division oversees Xbox plus the company's gaming and entertainment arms.
He's apparently not just looking to ride off into a glowing green sunset: The same sources assert Mattrick is inches away from taking a high-up position at Zynga.
How high up? Mattrick could be crowned the struggling social gaming company's CEO.
Zynga told us it has no comment while we're waiting for a response from Microsoft. We expect to hear something along the same lines, but we'll keep you posted.
