A new report suggests that the #XiaomiMi 3, Mi 4 and the Mi Note are all slated to receive the Marshmallow update soon as it is said to be in its final testing stages. The Chinese manufacturer was surprisingly quiet as far as an update timeline was concerned, but it seems like the company was working on it all along.
Xiaomi hasn’t offered official clarification as of yet, so whatever we’re hearing right now is coming from a different source. It is said that the update will contain a new version of MIUI 7 and that the company will not issue a new version of MIUI just for Android 6.0. This is understandable as the company only recently released MIUI 7.
It’s very good to see that Xiaomi is sending out an update to a two year old smartphone such as the Mi 3, which goes to show that the company honors the commitment it made to the users of its relatively older devices. The Mi Note was launched earlier this year and has not seen a wider release in Asia, with its reach being limited to China. The Mi 4 on the other hand has been released widely across the region and has been a very popular device for the company.
