#Xiaomi is under a lot of pressure lately to release the #Mi5 flagship in time. There has been talk that the handset would feature the Qualcomm #Snapdragon820 SoC underneath, with most reports claiming that this would be the first device to feature the said chipset.
But Xiaomi’s top executive, Lei Jun has now mentioned that this is not exactly a priority for the company and that they would be focusing more on the user experience aspect of the upcoming flagship rather than simply focusing on the hardware. That’s not to say that the Snapdragon 820 won’t be on board though. It’s just that Xiaomi doesn’t exactly worry much about being the first company to launch a Snapdragon 820 device in the market.
Rumors have hinted that the Mi 5 would pack a 5.2 inch Quad HD display, a 21-megapixel camera on the back, 4GB of RAM, 16/32/64GB of storage and Android 5.1 or Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 7 on board. The company is expected to unveil the smartphone sometime in early 2016, possibly by January.
