No mention was made at the unveiling of the Redmi Note 3's release date, but it seems likely to a few months away, at least.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 didn't see an official release in the US, and you can expect the same to happen with the Note 3. If you want to pick one up, you will have to do so online.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been announced to start at 899 CNY (US$140) for the base model and 1,099 CNY (US$172) for the 3 GB RAM version.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features
The primary difference between the Redmi Note 3 and its predecessor is the Note 3's body material. The aluminum unibody design makes this the first Xiaomi device to have a full metal body.
The Redmi Note 3 will also be the first Xiaomi device to feature a fingerprint sensor, which Xiaomi claims can be used to unlock the device in 0.3 seconds.
The phone will come in a choice of silver, gold or gray colors.

At the unveiling event in Beijing, China, Xiaomi announced that the Redmi Note 3 will come in two variants: one with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage and another with a beefier 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage set up.
The screen remains the same as the Redmi Note 2, at 5.5 inches and 1080p resolution, and the MediaTek Helio X10 processor is also the same as the Note 2's.
Elsewhere, there's a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera. The battery packs some charge, at 4,000 mAh, and it only adds an extra 4 grams over the Redmi Note 2's weight.
