Xiaomi has announced quite a few devices this year, but the ones that received most media attention are the company’s new flagships, the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. Both of these handsets were announced back in January, but only the Mi Note was available. The Mi Note is available for purchase in Asia for quite some time now, even the special edition Bamboo version was released a while ago. Xiaomi has kept its promise and has released the most powerful device in their lineup, the Mi Note Pro.
“Mi Note Pro is by far Xiaomi’s most beautifully designed phone, using the most sophisticated technology and delivering an amazingly powerful performance,” said Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro will be available directly from Xiaomi’s official webpage starting May 12 for RMB 2,999 ($483). Keep in mind that this device will be available only in China, and Xiaomi will also offer this device across their Mi Home outlets in China. Xiaomi did not say when will this handset be available outside of China, but you can expect it to roll out to additional Asian countries within the next couple of weeks. Considering the fact that Xiaomi is officially not selling its devices outside of Asia just yet, you won’t be able to purchase this phone from the company if you live in Europe or the U.S. for example. Your only option will be to get it via various resellers if you choose to do so.
The Mi Note Pro features a 5.7-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440, 515 PPI) Sharp / JDI display which utilizes the ‘Sunlight Display’ technology in order to provide great outdoor visibility. This handset also sports 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of non-expandable eMMC 5.0 flash storage. The Mi Note Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of this handset and next to it you’ll find a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 3,090mAh battery is also a part of this package and it supports Quick Charge 2.0 feature, which means you’ll be able to charge up this battery up to 70% in just one hour. This is also a dual SIM device which offers category 9 4G LTE connectivity (up to 450mbps download speeds). The Mi Note Pro sports an aluminum metal unibody frame and a curved 2.5D and 3D glass on both its front and back side.
