What’s the biggest adventure you’ve ever been on? This year we made it our aim to take you on your most epic journey yet. We bring you – Xperia journey.
Great photography isn’t something that exists only in isolation – when we take an image and share it with the world it begins to go on a journey. In the same way as we’re inspired by our environment and the creative content that we come across, what we create inspires others.
That’s why we made it our mission to take the most talented Instagrammers from across the globe, and send them on a visual journey, capturing the extraordinary, with nothing but their Xperia. Every photographer had to take a picture that had a link to the previous one posted, whether it was a subject in the image or the composition. There were no limits and our Instagrammers were free to interpret as they pleased.
Things kicked off in Denmark’s glorious capital – Copenhagen, the happiest country in the world, the home of Lego and where Hans Christian Andersen drew inspiration. Our first Instagrammer, featured at the top of this post, was the very talented Bobby Anwar who chose to shoot a traditional street shortly after rainfall. But how do we get from there to our next shot in Russia…
Boris Vedenskiy decided to choose the bike as a link and moved the journey to the streets of Moscow. Shooting this close up as night drew in, he was able to make the most of Xperia’s low light features.
The journey continued and with 12 stops across the whole world, we were in the city of romance. Climbing to the highest buildings in Paris, Saúl Aguilar shot the Eiffel Tower just as the sun began to set. Inspired by a philosophy that treats every day as an adventure, a truly fantastic image was taken.
After travelling through the Netherlands, Sao Paulo and Spain, we ended up in Stockholm with Christoffer Collin. Our adventure had moved from bustling cityscapes to tranquil nature imagery. Collin chose to take the watery feel from the previous shot, with this gorgeous lonely bridge.
Finally, before our last destination, we travelled to Madrid with Phil Gonzalez. Drawing inspiration from Collin’s lonely bridge, Gonzalez shared the beautifully composed image below.
