It’s no secret that Amazon’s Fire Phone has been a flop. But considering that it started out at $650 unlocked, today’s deal on the handset might just be enough to move a few more units.
Today only, you can get the Fire Phone unlocked for just $159, an all-time low by $30. Admittedly, that’s still a decent chunk of change, but consider what else it comes with:
So really, you’d be paying about a $40 premium for the phone itself. Even if it’s not your daily driver, you could do a lot worse than to keep it around as a backup if your main phone ever breaks. Or, you could use it as some kind of Amazon-centric iPod Touch. Or pop in a prepaid T-Mobile or AT&T SIM card to test out their signal in your area, if you’re interested in switching. What I’m saying is, there are plenty of ways you could put an extra phone to use, and at this price, it might be worth a look.
