ASUS had introduced a handful of ZenFone 3 devices this year. The company had first announced the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Ultra and ZenFone 3 Deluxe smartphones back in May. These three devices were followed by the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Max which were introduced back in July. That being said, these handsets have been available for purchase for a while now, and both the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Laser are now available for purchase in the US through Amazon. Having that in mind, ASUS has just introduced three ‘new’ ZenFone 3 in China, well, it would be more accurate to say that they re-branded the existing ones, read on.
In addition to the five ZenFone 3 smartphones the company had announced earlier this year, ASUS has just added the ZenFone 3 Monarch, ZenFone 3 Ultimate and ZenFone 3 Euro edition to the mix. The ZenFone 3 Monarch is essentially a ZenFone 3 Deluxe for the Chinese market it seems, as it shares the same design and specs as the company’s flagship. This handset comes with a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, and comes with a 23-megapixel rear-facing shooter. The phone comes in Gray, Silver and Gold color variants, while it costs 4,999 Yuan ($749) in the country.
The ZenFone 3 Ultimate comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while it is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC. This is essentially a more affordable variant of the ZenFone 3 Monarch, as it looks the same, but its specs are inferior to the ZenFone 3 Monarch, only as far as RAM and storage are concerned though. The ZenFone 3 Ultimate comes in at 3,299 Yuan ($494) in China. The ZenFone 3 Ultra has also been announced in China, and this handset is identical to the international model, even its name is the same. And last, but not least, the ZenFone 3 Euro edition. This is essentially the ZenFone 3 with a different name attached to it. The ZenFone 3 features a 5.5-inch fullHD display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 SoC, and comes with a 3,000mAh battery. The phone comes in Blue, Black and White color variants, and it costs 2,699 Yuan ($404).
