Yesterday, HTC called 2013 the “year of the selfie” as it pointed to the 5-megapixel front-facing on its latest flagship. But avid selfie takers may have an even better option in ZTE’s Nubia X6 phablet, which features 13-megapixels both on the back and front of the device, in addition to a metal body that was created using nano-injected molding techniques. The X6 also offers first class specs that are among the best of any smartphone we’ve seen to date.
The Nubia X6 comes equipped with a massive 6.44-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, dual-SIM support, a 4250mAh battery, and 3GB of RAM. The device starts at $485 for a 32GB model, though you can also pick up 64GB or 128GB models for $565 or $645, respectively. ZTE didn’t detail what version of Android the X6 runs, though it’s clear there’s a custom skin sitting on top of Google’s OS.
ZTE’s made a push towards becoming a global brand in recent years, but there’s no guarantee the company’s latest smartphone will make it beyond the Asian market, where its large 6.44-inch display is probably more attractive to consumers in that region of the world. We would love to try to the Nubia X6 out for ourselves, especially to check out its metal body and to see how well the front-facing 13-megapixel camera performs.
